Fragrance Direct Haul
Good morning my fellow nail polish lovers, is there anything better than nail mail? The other day I made a rather large order on Fragrance Direct and I was super excited when I received my package 3 days later.
For those of you who don't know Fragrance Direct is a gem of a site that I found thanks to Amy from Nailpolishbabyy90. They sell many different brands of great nail polish for a fraction of the normal price.
O.P.I-£3.49
Essie-£2.49
Orly-£1.99
Sally Hansen Insta-dri-99p
Nicole by O.P.I-£2.35
Rimmel-99p
These are just some of the brands that they stock, I would highly suggest any bargain nail polish hunter to check out this site. Click this link for super savings, but be warned this site is highly addictive. They recently restocked their O.P.I's and I'm already itching to make another order, so much polish so little time.
This time my order did consist of mostly Essie's one thing about Fragrance Direct is that the colours they show you are not a great load of help at seeing what the polish actually looks like. But for me this isn't a problem after checking out some swatch photo's I managed to decide which polishes took my fancy and placed them in my basket. Because my order came to over £40 I got free delivery, however if you didn't want to spend that high a price their postage cost's aren't massively high to the UK.
Standard tracked delivery- £1.99 per order
Express tracked delivery-£2.99 per order
Next day Delivery-£5.99 per order
They even offer international shipping which varies depending which country you are wanting it sent to, this also means no matter how many polishes are in your basket it will only be one standard shipping price. I've ordered quite a few times and it's never taken longer than four working days to get to me.
Ok enough talking lets get into some polish, like I said this was quite a big haul so be prepared for quite a picture heavy post. So here goes, first up is Essie's Blossom dandy this is a beautiful minty green cream that is opaque in two coats and has the newer diffusion thick brush.

Ok enough talking lets get into some polish, like I said this was quite a big haul so be prepared for quite a picture heavy post. So here goes, first up is Essie's Blossom dandy this is a beautiful minty green cream that is opaque in two coats and has the newer diffusion thick brush.
Next up is fear or desire which is a perfect pumpkin orange, great for the Halloween manicure's that will be coming up in the month of October. This is opaque in 2 coats and uses the thicker brush, i found this was quite a thick formula but easily manageable and didn't pool into my cuticles like some Essie's I've tried.
Essie's Garden Variety is a teal blue cream opaque in 2 coats and uses the thicker brush.
This polish is in my top 3 out of the whole haul, its name describes me perfectly and is one of my favourite colours to wear on my nails. I'm addicted is a bright blue only downside to this polish is it is quite sheer and opaque in 3 coats but because its gorgeous I'm willing to work with it. This also uses the smaller brush that Essie use for their original line.
Essie's It's genius is a beautiful violet shimmer polish and the shimmer translates to the nail, this is opaque in 2 coats. The first coat is quite shear but builds up well this also uses the thicker brush.
This next one I absolutely love the name Jam N Jelly is a fuchsia pink and in the bottle has a purple flash. unfortunately this does not seem to translate to the nail. This is opaque in 2 coats and was a good consistency this also used the thicker brush.
Nice is Nice is a pastel purple cream that is opaque in 2 coats and uses the thicker brush, I can just envision this with some daisy's stamped on top in the spring.
No more film is a very dark purple cream that in some lights does look black on the nail, it is opaque in two coats and uses the thicker brush.
Perennial chic is a light peach cream opaque in 2 coats using the thicker brush.
Shearling darling is one of my least favourite out of this haul just because I'm not keen on how it leans more of the brown side rather than red. This is opaque in 2 coats with the smaller brush and is quite a shear formula.
Essie's status symbol was always going to be high up on my list it is pink after all, great formula opaque in two coats quite shear on the first coat but builds up extremely well and uses the thicker brush.
The lace is on is a fuchsia purple shimmer that in sunlight looks stunning, its opaque in 3 coats and uses the smaller brush.
Turquoise and Caicos is a turquoise green the formula on this isn't fantastic it was quite shear and a bit hard to control. Took 3 coats to be opaque and even then wasn't perfect I would say on the nail you would see quite a few brush strokes with this one, but I can see this colour being great for spring and good for an Easter manicure.
Last for the Essie portion of the haul is my number one and will be used plenty in December, Toggle to the top is such a unique polish and perfect for Christmas. This is a dark red with loads of glitter and shimmer, this will definitely attract attention under those bright Christmas lights, opaque in 2 coats and uses the smaller brush. My picture does not do this polish the justice it deserves, a must buy for this winter.
So that I would qualify for free shipping I added a few Sally Hansen Insta-dri's to my basket, I've also heard these are perfect for stamping so I had a look through the collection they had in stock and picked the ones that caught my eye. I didn't realise until after they arrived that I had ordered so many purples. First up is currant trend which remind me so much of the colour of Ribena its opaque in 2 coats, I did find the brushes on the Insta-dri's quite hard to use just because they're so wide.
Instant Iris is a bright fushia pink with a blue shimmer opaque in 2 coats, I really hope this stamps because it will look beautiful over a white base.
Purpelling is exactly that a purple cream that is opaque in 1 coat, that's right just one coat for this beautiful colour.
The last insta-dri is the beautiful orchid express which will be featured in an upcoming manicure, it's opaque in 2 coats and has a beautiful shine even without top coat.
Then I purchased Orly's famous Liquid Vinyl which has been hyped up to be the perfect black cream polish. I can officially say I totally agree with this, opaque in 1 coat and a beautiful easy formula. This has become my new go to black and will be used in many future manicures, especially for Halloween.
There we have it all those goodies for a great price, they are now tucked up nicely in my Helmer to sleep with the rest of my little babies.
Sorry this post was so long but I really wanted to share with my fellow addicts all of the fantastic loot I had acquired. I hope you all enjoyed this and if you have any polishes you think I should grab in a future haul please drop a comment below. As always I hope your having a great nail day and i'll see you in the next post.
Coming up next: My first attempt at a Doticure :-)
Amazing haul! I've been resisting a fragrance direct order for a few months now. I don't think I'll last much longer lol! ORLY 'Liquid Vinyl' has been tempting me for a while but I'll definitely get it now. I also bought Essie 'The Lace is On' for £3.99 in TXMaxx this weekend, nearly double the price :( x
ReplyDeleteThanks hun I did see that in my tkmaxx too :) you should make an order it's amazing and such great prices. Highly recommend toggle to the top :) x
