Opulent Essences Taste The Rainbow Collection- Swatch and Review
Hello my lovely readers, I am so sorry I haven't managed to write up a post recently. Unfortunately the dreaded bug took a hold of me and was refusing to let go, just looking at a computer screen would make my head pound and my eyes water. Hopefully today's awesome post will make up for it, the collection I bring to you today is from the wonderful Sharon and Zoe over at Opulent Essences. These ladies are always coming up with some fab polishes and their neon collection is no exception. When Sharon first posted bottle shots of these beauties the first thing that came to mind were Skittles, me and Becca from A Certain Becca Nails decided we would call them Taste The Rainbow and luckily for us Sharon loved the name and now we have this stunning collection each named after a fruity treat you can find in a Skittles packet.
This gorgeous collection consists of 6 neon creme polishes that look stunning on the nail and make you want to reach for your sunglasses and hit the beach. I will be doing a post showing how these beauties stamp and a few manicures that might include an attempt at water marbling. Keep your eye's peeled for those, but for now lets get into the swatches.
First up from this fabulous collection is Strawberry, this is a neon pink creme opaque in 3 coats, formula was really easy to work with and this is probably my number one favourite from the collection.
The next polish is called Lemon and oh my god, everyone who passes by will be in awe of this gorgeous highlighter yellow neon creme. This will not build up to full opacity by itself but if you put down a white base and then add 2 coats of Lemon you will be ready to blind people and make them reach for their sunglasses.
The third polish in this collection and my favourite flavor of Skittles is Orange, this is a orange neon creme that builds up to be fully opaque in 3 easy to apply coats.
Blueberry is one of the darker polishes from this collection, it is a cobalt blue creme that is opaque on its own in 2 coats. If you do one thick one thin it does reach full opacity, I would be careful when applying this one the three stroke method is best to avoid getting streaks.
Lime is another one of those eye catching colours from the collection, it will not build up by itself but with a white base and two coats of this your good to go. I can honestly say you can count this as a true neon green creme, it reminds me of the lime sauce my brother would have drizzled all over his ice cream.
The last polish in this collection is called Grape this is a purple neon creme that leans more pink, it is close to magenta but not quite there. I am a huge fan of purple so really do love this one, you can get this opaque on its own in 2 easy to apply coats. Again the formula was fantastic, so easy to work with and didn't have any problems with brush strokes.
Overall I am loving this collection not only are these some of the best neon's I have ever seen but the formula is so easy to work with. None of the polishes cause staining around the cuticle or nail and they all dry with a shiny finish. I did add topcoat for these swatches just for longevity purposes and probably out of habit. Each one of these polishes are available now at Opulent Essences Etsy store, you can buy the full 10ml size collection for £25 or the 5ml mini collection for £15. They are also available separately for £5 per bottle. I am so glad I have this collection and can't wait to rock some of these neon's this summer.
I will leave all of Opulent Essences Social media links below for you to go check them out, their customer service is fantastic and they are such nice ladies. At the present time they only ship to Europe, if your country isn't in the list then you can message them and they will give you a quote for shipping. For the UK it is £2.80 flat rate shipping and Europe is £3.50. If purchasing more than 4 bottles the postage will be slightly higher, all of my packages have always arrived safely and within 2-4 working days.
I hope you have enjoyed today's swatch's and the review for the Taste The Rainbow collection,I hope that you have all been having a good week so far. As always let me know your thoughts in the comments section below. I am off to chow down on a bag of Skittles, chat to you all again soon.
