Born Pretty French Tip Guides- Manicure & Review
Hello my lovely readers, I hope you have all had a wonderful week and are looking forward to the weekend. I seem to have come down with a bad cold at the moment so all my energy is being used to fight it off. Luckily my boyfriend has ten days holiday coming up so I will have him to help me with Lexi, speaking of the little monster. She is now running around getting into absolutely everything, her vocabulary is expanding and the other day she pointed at my polishes and said Mumma pretties. I was one proud nail polish addict mummy to hear her say that. For today's post I will be using some nail vinyls I recently purchased from The Born Pretty Store using a blogger discount.
For this manicure I used some of the pointed half moon vinyls and 2 new Barry M polishes I recently purchased from Superdrug.
This is a Superdrug exclusive polish from Barry M called Festival Fever, it is a bubblegum pink creme with gold shimmer. This polish is fully opaque in 2 coats and is very easy to apply to the nail, the shimmer translates beautifully. As you can probably see I have been fiddling about with my lighting and background colour recently as I felt when my swatch photo's are taken on a black background it makes them look quite dull.
The Tip Guides I chose come in many different designs, these will be great for all of us that love doing nail art and trying out different methods and effects. There are 16 different packets with different shapes in different sizes. Once my base colour of Festival Fever and my top coat was fully dry I applied the vinyl so that the tip of the triangle was in the center. Make sure your top coat is completely dry before applying these as they will pull up your colour underneath if it is not.
Once I had my vinyl where I wanted it I used Gold Digger from the Barry M Molten Metal collection to colour in the gap between my cuticle and the guide. To get crisp lines I removed the vinyl immediately whilst the polish was wet, and then gently glided my top coat over the top so the design wouldn't smear.
I was really happy with how well these two polishes went together, the tip guides were easy to use and came off nicely the set is priced at £2.99 which is a Bargain!. I would definitely recommend them if you are look for a set of vinyls that can create lots of different looks. I will leave all of the links for the Born Pretty Store and their social media below.
I hope you have enjoyed my triangle half moon mani, I would love to know your thoughts on my change of background? Do you think the swatches are better with the white or the black? As always I hope you are having a fabulous nail day and I chat to all you wonderful people again soon.
I like this sort of manicure so much better than French tip style. Great review!
