Galaxy Nails Using Opulent Essences Neptune and Opulence
Hello my lovely readers! I hope you are all having a fab day, the sun is shining bright here and there is a lovely breeze in the air so all around a perfect day. Today's post is a combination of nail art and some swatches of some of the newly released Opulent Essences polishes. For some time now I have been wanting to try a Galaxy mani, so when I received these beautiful polishes from Sharon and Zoe I knew these would be the perfect polishes to use.
I am quite pleased with how my first attempt turned out, there are a few things I would change in the future put these polishes were definitely perfect for this manicure.
For my base I used this stunning cobalt blue creme with silver shimmer called Neptune, this is fully opaque in 2 coats and applies really smoothly to the nail. I felt this was the perfect colour to start with for a galaxy mani.
Once that was top coated and dry I used one coat of Opulence this is a silver holographic, I will be posting swatches of this by itself in the future but it works fantastically as a holographic topper too. It really gave the nail the depth and look of space that I was looking for.
This is a picture of it with flash that holo really shines through and creates the look of a starry sky, after I added Opulence I tore off a small bit of make up sponge. First I sponged white in a wave pattern across the middle of all my nails. Then I took a smaller bit of sponge and gently dabbed a darker blue on either side of the white. I used a lighter blue just to blend the two colours together so it looked more of a natural transition.
To finish everything off I used a dotting tool to add white dots for the stars, if I was to redo these again I would have picked out some star images and stamped them on with a clear jelly stamper. I always seem to be a bit too heavy handed with a dotting tool, and I think stamped stars would look a lot prettier than my blobs.
There we have it my very first attempt at a Galaxy manicure, I hope you all like it. I was definitely happy that it didn't turn out like a massive mess on my nails and I think you can tell what I was trying to go for (or at least I hope so). These two Opulent Essences polishes definitely brought this Galaxy mani to life, both have a great formula and look amazing on their own as well as in nail art.
Opulence and Neptune are available to buy now from the Opulent Essences Etsy store, I will leave links to this and all their social media below. You can get Neptune in a 5ml bottle for £3 and Opulence is in a 10ml for £6. I would highly recommend picking up Opulence if you are looking for a silver holographic that can be opaque on its own and used on top of other polishes. I did not experience any staining from Neptune on the nail or around the cuticle.
I hope you like my first Galaxy mani, this was so much fun to create so I will definitely be giving it another go in the future. A big thank you again to Sharon and Zoe for sending these polishes to me for review. As always I hope you are all having a fabulous nail day and I will chat to all of you wonderful people again soon.
