Meebox Splash Mani
Hello my lovely readers, I hope you have all had a good week. I can't believe that tomorrow will be Saturday again. This week has flown by, in fact this whole year seems to be flying by it only feels like yesterday it was Christmas. For today's mani I will be using all of the goodies I received in June's Splash Meebox. I knew the minute that A England Whispering waves was brushed on my nails it would be the base colour for my manicure.
When I heard the theme Splash my thoughts immediately went to mermaids and all things sea related, so Whispering Waves was the perfect base colour to create the look of the blue ocean this took 2 coats to reach full opacity.
To start my mermaid manicure I used the mermaid scale nail vinyls from Nail-Mail, we received these in our Meebox. I placed the vinyl on my nail pushed it down firmly so no polish would seep through and used A England The Blessed Damozel to paint over the vinyl. When the polish was still wet I used tweezers to pull the vinyl off, this is the first time this has actually worked for me. So I give a big thumbs up to Nail-Mail vinyls.
On the rest of my nails I used Uber Chic collection 9 plate 1 for the bubble image, I stamped this using my clear jelly stamper and Mundo De Unas white. On my pointer I added this little crab from Moyou London Doodles collection 07, he was stamped with Mundo De Unas Red.
On my middle finger nail I used the same plate to stamp two swimming fish with Mundo De Unas orange. After all every mermaid needs their own fishy and crab companions to keep them company under the sea.
For my pinkie nail I couldn't resist stamping these cute little jellyfish also from Moyou London Doodles collection 07 in Mundo De Unas pink, I loved how they looked like they were bobbing along my nail.
To add the finishing touch to my Splash mani I used the little silver starfish charm from She Sells Seashells. I placed this on my ring nail in the right-hand corner. I think this was just what I needed to tie the whole manicure together. This photo was taken out in the sunlight and I love the combo of all the colours, and that beautiful holographic glitter sparkling in the sunshine.
Out of curiosity I wanted to see what these would look like if they were stamped over black and white so I did some swatches, and I am very pleased to say they stamp beautifully over both. The Blessed Damozel in particular works really well over the black, all three polishes did not leave staining on my stamper.
I would love to know what you think of my Splash mani, always wanting to hear your thoughts and opinions. I am actually really pleased with how this turned out, one of the few mani's I am actually proud of. Thank you so much to the lovely ladies at Meebox and A England for getting this box together, it was perfect. The Ocean and Summer all in one box!
As always have a fabulous nail day and I will chat to all you wonderful people again soon.
