The Nail Emporium Pigment Powders- Swatch & Review
*Press Sample*
Welcome back everyone, I hope you all had a really lovely weekend. Mine didn't exactly go as planned, Drayton manor had to be postponed for a few weeks. So instead of going on loads of rides, I had one of my nans gorgeous roast dinners, so still a great day. For today's post I have two pigment powders from a new UK business called The Nail Emporium, these were sent to me for review a few weeks back, once my black gel polish arrived I got straight to playing with these.
Both of these powders are applied on a black gel polish base from Elite 99, I really liked working with these and will definitely be trying out more in the future.
Iced
The first pigment I received is Iced, when applied to the nail this will turn your base colour a chrome with a slight blue shimmer. This is 2 coats of Elite 99 black gel polish and then I popped the powder onto the sticky layer of the gel polish. This was really easy to use and gave a really lovely effect.
Matrix
The second pigment I was sent is called matrix, this turns your base polish into a duo chrome. It shifted from a teal to a purple with a slight blue shimmer. Trying to capture the purple shift was near impossible when it came to taking the photo's, but it was definitely noticeable in real life. To apply this pigment, I followed the same steps that I did for Iced, and it applied really nicely.
Overall this being my first time trying any pigment powders, I really enjoyed the experience. They were simple to apply to the gel polish and clean up wasn't awful either. There is one thing I have definitely learnt from this experience, I must invest in a better lamp (was waiting ages for each layer to cure). I will link The Nail Emporium's Instagram and Facebook down below.
I would love to know your thoughts? Also if you have any tips when it comes to using gel polish and these powders I would love to hear them.
As always have a fantastic nail day and I will chat to all you awesome people again soon.
Matrix is my favourite but these both look fab :) xx
